What is SAFB?

SAFB, stands for Sound Attenuation Fiber Batt. And in short, its amazing.

We typically use SAFB made by Rockwool and is a compressed stone wool batting that is firm and we cut it with a “breadknife”. SAFB is the go to standard for interior wall sound deadening.

What is SAFB Used For and Where Can SAFB installed?

  1. Sound Attenuation – Room to Room Sound Reduction or Sound Attenuation. SAFB is superior for reducing and absorbing the sound energy from room to room, especially rooms that adjoin each other.
  2. Media Rooms – If you have a dedicated media room, or a room that you need extra privacy, SAFB can be installed between the wall to reduce the sound transfer/
  3. Commercial Buildings – Sound reduction between rooms can be important when you need added privacy between rooms where privacy is paramount.

We almost exclusively use ROCKWOOL Safe’n’Sound® stone wool batts. SAFB is best when used in  for interior walls, media rooms, under stairs, between floors and in ceilings.

The primary benefit of SAFB is that this product is superior compared to regular fiberglass batting at absorbing sound, making rooms, offices, apartments, media rooms, mechanical rooms much quieter.
