We had a customer call us for questions regarding a faint urine smell when the HVAC turned on. The customer stated when it was hotter, the urine smell was worse. Upon inspection, we discovered the attic in the lower floor was completely contaminated with rat/mice feces and urine.

Cause:
Rats or mice were in the attic for an extended period of time.
Correction:
We vacuumed all the contaminated attic insulation out of the attic. Once the insulation was removed, we sanitized the attic with DSV and Odor Ban. This resolved the smell immediately. Once we received the thumbs up from the customer, we spray foam the attic.
