Our customer was demo’ing drywall in the gararge and a few interior walls. Upon demo, the customer discovered that they had r6 wall batt in a 4″ cavity which was the standard in the 1970’s.
When we inspected the job, we determined that we were able to install R13 Owens Corning Next Gen Batt and while we were there, we were able to install R38 Owens Corning ProPinkL77a attic insulation in the home. Their home was about 2200 sqft, so it only took us an extra few hours to go from an R12 attic insulation to R38.

Correction:
We removed the old R6 wall insulation and installed new R13 Wall Batt to about 240 sqft. of vertical wall and ended up adding more insulation to the homes’s attic.
