When building our home, ADU, office, apartment complex or structure, there are a series of steps that you must take in order to build your building. The list is extensive, everything from permits, slap, trusses, doors, windows, drywall, paint, plumbing, electrical, roofing etc.
To us, one of the most important steps has to do with energy efficiency. This is air sealing. Air sealing, wall insulation, attic insulation and spray foam all work together to help keep the cool air in and hot air out of the home. Home and attic air sealing also helps stop the exchange of outside air from mixing with your inside air which will decrease efficiency if there is not air sealing.
One of the best times to perform air sealing is when the door and windows are installed, plumbing and electrical is completed, but the drywall is NOT installed. Before the doors and windows are inspected, out team will come in and air seal using Soudal Fireblock (red in color) for all attic penetrations and Soudal All-Season (white-yellow in color) foam for the doors and windows. This will help reduce air infiltration from the outside and inside of the home.

- Electrical boxes
- Water piping holes
- Electrical wiring holes
- Access holes
- Top plates
- Any type of Builders Crack / Openings
