We were contacted by a drywall installer this week and they needed our batting insulation services. The home was flooded and they drywall contractor removed 4″ of the drywall from the floor up. The insulation and drywall was wet, and needed to be replaced.

The original batting insulation was an R9 and was nearly 48 years old. Most of the original insulation was mildly wet, along with the drywall. The drywall contractor removed all the drywall, we removed all the batting. The home was dried out for 2 weeks and once we received the all clear, we installed the new R13 Kraft insulation.

Location: Winter Springs, Florida

Concern: Wet insulation removed from all the interiors and exterior walls

Cause: Wet insulation, needed new insulation.

Correction: We added 600 sqft of Owens Corning Pink Next Gen R13 batting to the entire bottom 4′ of the home.
