We received a call from a customer that was complaining of high humidity levels in the home. Upon inspection, we discovered the home was reading 68% humidity inside the home. We checked all the rooms, and they were all about 67-68% humidity. We checked the crawl space for water leaks and insulation. The crawl space was fully batted with R19 insulation and there where no active water leaks.
We did notice that the crawl space floor did not have any vapor barrier, which is not required but highly recommended. This was the cause of the high humidity.
