We were completing an insulation this week by adding 10″ of added attic insulation home. Just after we finished, the customer had brought us over to her master bathroom where she showed us her bathroom fan. The bathroom fan had excessive mold around the edges of the bathroom fan. After a quick inspection, we discovered that the bathroom fan was a replacement fan and had an air gap that was not air sealed. This allowed for hot air to mix with cool air causing mold growth.
