We had a homeowner that need air sealing and they were preparing for a new HVAC system. In order for the customer to start and finish the new AC Ducts, we had to remove all the attic insulation which was super old. This also gave us an opportunity to air seal the entire home.
A little backstory with this Orlando home. When we arrived to do the attic inspection, we noted that the insulation was nearly 45 years old, was never updated and had a heavy odor. Upon further inspection, the we noted that about 25% of the duct work was collapsed and had most of the mastic and heat seal broken with cracks.
The customer indicated that they wanted the full removal, air seal, sanitize and R30, but to do the removal first as the HVAC company would replaced the AC ducts after the attic insulation was removed.

Concern: Wanted the attic air sealed and cleaned out.
Cause: No cause, just old attic insulation and a home that was no air sealed since it was from 1979.
Correction: We removed all the attic insulation and air sealed the home.
