This week we had a home that is 1016 Sq. Ft. and in the summer time, the home cannot cool before 83F. The customer did mention that after 9pm, the home would get down to about 74F.
During our attic inspection, the home only had 1-4″ of Thermafiber in the attic. This is not enough. We had to add between 8-13″ of Owens Corning ProPink just to get to an R38. This home was very uninsulated.
Our conclusion after inspection:
- Not enough insulation
- Ducts were in great shape.
- Bathroom vents were vented correctly.

Concern: Home does not cool in the day time during the summer.
Cause: Low attic insulation.
Correction: We added R38 Owens Corning ProPinkL77a to the entire home.
